Principal's welcome
Dear Parents/Guardians and Pupils,
Thank you for visiting our school website to find out more about St. Mary’s NS . St. Mary’s is a co-educational, Catholic school located in the village of Oldtown in North County Dublin between Swords and Ashbourne. We are a small school with both mainstream classes and classes for children with a diagnosis of autism.
Here in St. Mary’s we work hard as a team to help each and every one of our pupils realise their full potential. We are very fortunate to be supported in this by a fantastic parent group and a very active, dedicated Parents’ Association. Together with the parents and guardians, and supported by the local community, the staff here in St. Mary’s are committed to helping each child have a positive school experience and to be their best selves. As a small school all of our staff get to know all of the children in our care and take the time to help nurture them as they grow and develop.
We strive to offer a holistic education for all our students. To further this aim, we are supported by our involvement with a wide range of initiatives such as Active Flag, Amber Flag and Creative Schools, to name but a few. While we are a Catholic school, we are welcoming and inclusive of children and their families of all faiths and none.
On behalf of all our staff, Board of Management, Patron, parents and guardians and most importantly, our pupils, thank you for visiting. I hope that you have seen a glimpse of what a wonderful school we have situated in a warm supportive community.
Míle Buíochas,
Julie Carroll
Principal
