Wellbeing - Friends Cafe
Here in St. Mary's we take our children's wellbeing seriously and work hard to create a school culture that is warm, welcoming of all and supportive. We have embraced our new Bí Cineálta policy and it's core message of kindness.
As a part of this Ms. Baldwin organises Friendship Cafes were children from different classes join each other for lunch and a chat. As a smaller school, all our children would already know each other yet we have found that this activity promotes and supports friendships across age groups and classes. This can be invaluable for a child who is struggling to make friends or just needs a chance to chat. This takes place as a part of our Friendship Week and our Wellbeing Week that is scheduled every year, and is included as a part of our World Book Day 'Cozy up and Read' sessions.
