Fire Brigade visit
Following a talk on fire safety the previous week,there was great excitement when the Dublin Fire Brigade came to visit on Thursday last.The children got to check out the inside of a fire engine,try on safety gear and best of all,test their aim with a powerhose.
School Bowling trip
For the third year running the school was invited to a free bowling sesion in the Leisureplex in Blanchardstown.This year the junior room joined us for the first time and a great day was had by all.
Halloween Costumes at Assembly 23/10/'15
As always children and staff threw themselves wholeheartedly into our Halloween celebrations as evidenced by the wonderful array of costumes on display at Friday assembly.
As part of the 1916 comemorations the school was presented with a tricolour by representatives of the Irish army in October.
Student Council 2015
St.Mary's school has set up a new student council. The student council representatives are really looking forward to taking an active and responsible role in their school life. The council will meet every second Thursday to share all their ideas and suggestions from the students. We can't wait to see what they come up with.

Christmas 2015 in Oldtown
December was an extremely busy month with all the children of the school preparing for the Craft Fair and our Carol Service, both of which were resounding successes.Many thanks to the parents and families who supported these events and our particular gratitude to the Parent's Council for organising the Cake Sale and providing refreshments.
Finally our eternal thanks to the man himself for dropping by at our final assembley with gifts for all.
Dublin Primary Spikeball Competition
Once again our spikeball teams covered themselves in glory,with both teams making the last two of the mixed competition.In an excellent final our first team overcame the seconds 16-8 with both sides going on to represent Dublin in the east Leinsters at the end of Feb.

World Book Day
World book day was celebrated with a host of activities,including a literary quiz,fancy dress competition,design a book cover and shared reading session.
St Mary's joined with every other school in the country by raising the Irish flag and reading the Proclamation of Independance.
Ámhran na bhfiann was sung by the whole school with musical accompaniment from Lauren McCaffrey on violin and Lorcan Donaghey on Guitar.The senior room played Dóchas linn Naomh Pádraig on recorder.
Many thanks to the Fingal Ravens club for organising the visit of the Sam Maguire cup to the school this April.
